Former owner and teacher of
The Art Room in Ligonier, PA.
The studio opened in February 2010
to provide the children of the
community an opportunity
to further explore their creative side.
"My goal is to allow students to enjoy fun, creative, educational, experimental, and exploratory art instruction with gentle guidance and individual attention. Children can experiment with a wide range of art materials and art processes, develop skills in drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking, build confidence and above all
have a lot of fun!"

Artist and Art Educator
Following my 2001 B.A. in
History of Art and Architecture
from Chatham College, I worked in several
Pittsburgh art galleries and was
Assistant Registrar at the Carnegie Museum of Art.
I then attained my B.S. in Art Education, and
PA Teaching Certification at
Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
My first school experience was in
Ocean City, Maryland
where I taught visual art, and also served as their
"Arts Integration Specialist."
This philosophy of arts education was
made possible through studies at
MATI (Maryland Artist Teacher Institute).
In 2012, I returned home,
having accepted my new teaching position at
Greater Latrobe School District.
I am delighted to teach children (grades K - 6),
we are enjoying our new art room at
Latrobe Elementary School. In the summer, I love to travel, write, and work in my flower gardens. My own artwork centers around fiber arts, abstract painting, and collecting/creating with ethnic beads.
